Peter Sedgwick - Dental Surgeon
I qualified as a dental surgeon at
Bristol Dental Hospital in 1981 and since qualifying, have worked in a
variety of dental practices in Somerset. I gained a Diploma in
Postgraduate Dental Studies from Bristol in 1996 and became a Licensed
Associate with the faculty of Homeopathy in Sept 2003. I have also trained
in the use of Botulinum Toxin and Dermal fillers.
I have been Practice Principal at
Wedmore Dental Practice since 1995.
I am also qualified as a Dinghy and
Powerboat instructor, and help to manage a sailing association (SYCSA)
based at Durleigh Reservoir, Bridgwater.
Tim Coates - Dental Surgeon
I trained as a dentist at Bristol
University. Previously, I worked as a scientist, which included
researching the tsetse fly in Africa. I have also
completed training in the use of Botulinum Toxin and Dermal fillers.
When I'm not fixing teeth I enjoy
restoring cars and have just completed restoration on a Grey Fergie tractor,
which I can now mow my paddock with.
Sally Cantwell - Dental Hygienist
My career started as a dental nurse in 1978, then working in the children's
department at Eastman Dental Hospital until I moved to Bristol. I
qualified as a dental hygienist in 1981and have
worked in many environments; dental hospitals, private practice and in NHS
practices. I currently work in three practices around the Bristol area.
I have
recently undertaken courses to extend my knowledge in other areas,
qualifying as a Massage Therapist in 2004.
Jane Fellows - Dental Hygienist
I qualified at Birmingham Dental Hospital in
1988. After having a family and moving to Somerset in 1992, I continued to
work part-time in private practice.
My interests include being a qualified dance and
aerobics instructor, and in 1998 I was very proud to be a British Aerobicsport Champion.
Michelle Frank - Registered Dental Nurse - Practice Manager
I qualified as a dental nurse in 1995 and have since worked in the UK and
abroad utilising and developing my skills.
I gained
my NVQ Assessors Award in 2002 coaching and assessing trainee dental nurses
and continue my assessing on a part-time basis.
I became Practice Manager
at Wedmore Dental Practice in 2003 and gained my Diploma in Dental Practice
Management in July 2005.
My job role is to manage, supervise and keep the team up to date with new
regulations. I am team lead on Decontamination/ HTM01-05 and CQC compliances.
Sue Featherstone - Registered Dental Nurse
I started
working as a dental nurse in 1989 and qualified in 1993. I have worked in a
variety of practices including working for the R.A.F. Dental Services in
Cyprus for 3 years.
Since starting work here at Wedmore in July 2008, I have attended many courses
to keep fresh and up to date the many changes in Dentistry. I also produce the
practice newsletters and keep our patients informed
with relevant information on our practice notice board.
I moved
to Somerset in 2002, and plan to further my career at Wedmore After
returning to the U.K. and having a short career break, I was pleased to have
the opportunity to join the Practice here at Wedmore, having previously
worked with Peter Sedgwick.
Pam Cadman - Registered Dental Nurse
I qualified as a dental nurse in 1994, and worked in practice
until I had a short break to start a family. Since returning to
work 7 years ago, I have nursed at Bristol Dental Hospital with
the dental students, and I am also currently part of the 'Special
Care Dental Team' based at Weston Hospital in addition to working
at Wedmore Dental Practice since June 2008.
Kate Toon - Dental Nurse
I have
been working as a dental nurse since 2005, previously working in a busy NHS
practice. I am currently studying hard towards my final dental nursing
examination later this year. I am please to have joined the Practice and
look forward to continuing my professional development within the team.
I was involved with Carnival and
for 6 years helped to build, paint and dance on the floats. Also, when I was
15, I helped organise a dance team to perform for the Queen's visit to
Wells, after which we were presented with a certificate of achievement by
Her Majesty.
